Brown Basmati rice is a wholegrain in which the outer husk of the grain which retains all the essential is not removed. Relatively it contains higher arsenic and antinutrients than white basmati rice. It has a nutty taste and a distinct flavor that gives an amazing taste. The nutritional value of this is very similar to any other white rice variety. It has comparatively low calories unlike any other long grain rice. It has low glycemic values which releases its energy slowly keeping the blood sugar level more stable.
Usage :
It is not necessary to soak this rice. It can be soaked to the maximum of fifteen minutes to obtain a softer and mushy texture. Basmati rice is ideally suited for making biriyani, fried rice, pulao, ghee rice and a variety of continental delicacies.
