Daivik’s Organic Brown Kerala Matta Rice is an indigenous variety of rice grown in the Palakkad district of Kerala. It is mainly known for its coarseness and its significant health benefits. It is different from other brown rice because of its robust and earthy aromatic flavor and goes good with lamb, beef or any kind of meat. This rice has a unique taste and is rich in fiber content and is easily digestible. It also contains traces of proteins, vitamins and minerals. And is greatly advisable for diabetic patients as it lowers the blood sugar levels. It also contains magnesium and calcium which helps in maintaining and in the formation of teeth and bones.
Usage :
This rice is hard and sturdy in nature so it is advisable to soak the rice overnight before cooking. The rice is drained and simmered with 4 to 8 parts water for 30 minutes. It is then covered and left for 15–20 minutes. It is used for making appams, idlies, and as a plain rice with Indian curries.
