Daivik’s Organic White Peas are smaller, white creamy, hard, starchier beans which are smaller than garbanzo / channa peas. It is obtained by drying the harvested peapods and removing the skin.They provide generous amount of important minerals such as vitamin B, protein and contains no fat. Being a mighty member of legume family, it is very rich source of fiber; that lowers the LDL cholesterol to a great extent and regulates the flow of sugar into the blood stream. It is enriched with isoflavones, which act as estrogens in the body to reduce the risk of breast and prostate cancer. Its phenolic acids and flavanols provide additional antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support.
Usage :
White peas should be soaked overnight or eight to ten hours and can be pressure cooked with sufficient water. It is very versatile and can be used for making a variety of indigenous curries and salads. Its stew can also be used for making healthful soups and is ideally suited for snacks when roasted.
