Daivik’s Organic White Eye Cow Pea also known as Southern peas or field pea is a small, white, kidney shaped beans with cream white skin and blunt ends. It belongs to the family of cow peas and is drought tolerant, bushy beans that grow efficiently in a wide range of soil conditions, most efficiently in sandy soils. They do not have a noticeable eye as in black eyed peas. Potassium content of white eye peas counters the adverse effects of sodium on the heart and also decreases the blood pressure. Its copper and iron content take part in the production of blood cells and aids anemic patients. It is an incredible source of essential minerals.

Usage :

White eye cow pea should be soaked for four to five hours and can be pressure cooked to obtain a softer texture. It is very versatile, delicious and can be cooked with mustard, greens and served with rice. It is one of the staples and employed in stews and sabzi.
