Daivik’s Organic Kattu Yanam Rice has a subtle red outer bran. The name “kattuyanam” roughly translates into “wild elephant” in Tamil. It traces its name from the fact that it grows extremely tall, that it can even completely hide elephants when they enter the farm. It is a climate-friendly crop that withstand even driest climate and grows efficiently. Unlike other rice verities it is more used for medicinal purposes as it protects vital body parts, than any other traditional rice varieties. It is a mighty source of iron and minerals. The rice is usually used for preparing water decoction or Kashayam which is made out of its bran. It incredibly boosts immunity and disease resistant traits.
Usage :
This rice requires at least 12 hours of soaking before cooking. It is preferably cooked in a pressure cooker with adequate amount of water with roughly six to eight whistles. And is desirably consumed in the form of idly and a variety of dosas which are the ideal breakfast of south India.
